NOTE: The INS will
accept these examination results only by passing the examination within
one (1) year preceding the date on which you submit an application for
naturalization. For example, if you take the test on June 14, 1997,
you must submit your application for naturalization by June 14, 1998.
The test satisfies Section 312, demonstrated knowledge of United States
history and government and English proficiency in reading and writing.
However, at your naturalization interview with INS, you still must be able
to understand and respond in English to questions about the contacts of
your application, or your application for naturalization may be denied
by the INS.
